About the Role

At Raytheon, we help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression by developing best-in-industry technologies that align product capabilities to customer needs. The Effector Guidance Electronics team designs RF and Microwave hardware—transmitters, receivers, and exciters—supporting radar and datalink applications on tactical missile programs. This role involves design and test activities from preliminary design through integration, with a focus on challenging mechanical constraints and extreme environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development of transmitters, receivers, or exciters
  • Design of circuit card assemblies (CCAs) with RF or mixed signals
  • Component characterization, module verification, and integration in a lab environment
  • Test and handling of sensitive RF hardware
  • Schematic capture and RF routing
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams (power, digital, mechanical, etc.)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Experience in RF design, fabrication, test, and troubleshooting
  • Simulation of RF products
  • Proficiency with tools such as Mentor DX Designer, High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS), SystemVue/Genesys, or Advanced Design System (ADS)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical oversight of less-senior engineers
  • Experience working across domains on complex projects
  • Team lead experience, including cost and schedule management
  • EVMS or CAM experience
  • Ability to prepare documentation with minimal oversight
  • Technical background in:
    • Cascade analysis and/or frequency planning
    • Filter design and fabrication
    • Circuit card assembly design and fabrication
    • Testing or designing RF hybrid (chip and wire) technologies
    • High-speed data converter test/characterization
    • High-power RF design or test
  • Scripting experience (Matlab or Python)
  • Front-line leadership experience

Pay

The salary range for this role is $86,800 – $165,200 USD. The range reflects all experience levels and considers factors such as role, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
