About the role
As a RF Design Engineer, you’ll design antenna and RF paths for radars used in automotive applications, including safety and autonomous driving.
- Design and evaluate new antenna systems and RF transceiver hardware.
- Model antenna designs and RF paths (PCB layer transitions) in HFSS, FEKO, or equivalent packages.
- Perform tolerance analysis to ensure compliance with system requirements in high-volume manufacturing.
- Perform system-level characterization using high-frequency computational tools.
- Design and develop testing methods to validate fabricated antenna designs and RF paths in laboratory settings (e.g., millimeter-wave test).
- Compile test data and document test reports.
- Maintain lab equipment and test setups.
- Create and maintain antenna drawings and release within the change management structure.
- Support radar systems engineers in developing new system concepts.
- Diagnose and modify existing antenna and RF designs.
- Present findings to management and customers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- 3+ years of experience in RF circuit test, RF subsystem test, antenna test, and test routine software development using LabView or similar scripting languages.
- Understanding of various RF materials and their applicability.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, harmonic mixers, etc.
- Deep understanding of RF parameters (e.g., S-parameter, noise figure, IMD, IP3, phase noise, EIRP) and their test methods.
- Knowledge of RF transmitters, receivers, radar systems, antenna theory and test methods, analog and digital circuitry.
- Design experience in high-frequency printed circuit boards (PCB).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Team player with high motivation, flexibility, and organization.
