About the role

We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Upstream Oil & Gas team in Oklahoma City, OK. This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate revenue accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for our upstream oil and gas assets.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly revenue accounting for upstream oil and gas properties, including volume and price reconciliations, revenue accruals, and joint-interest billing (JIB) processes.
• Prepare and review revenue-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Collaborate with operations, land, and engineering teams to gather data and resolve discrepancies in production volumes, pricing, and ownership interests.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, ASC 932) and regulatory requirements for oil and gas revenue reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
• Support the implementation and optimization of revenue accounting systems and processes, leveraging technology and data analytics to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of revenue accounting experience in the upstream oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of oil and gas revenue accounting principles, including production accounting, joint-interest billing, and revenue distribution.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
