Senior Restoration Engineer A growing engineering and building consulting firm is seeking a Senior Restoration Engineer to join its New York City team. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex building restoration, rehabilitation, and preservation projects throughout the city while playing a key role in mentoring staff and supporting the continued growth of the practice.The successful candidate will work on a diverse portfolio of existing buildings, ranging from multifamily and commercial assets to historic and architecturally significant structures. This is a highly visible role with direct involvement in project execution, client relationships, and technical leadership. Responsibilities Lead and manage façade, roofing, waterproofing, plaza, parking structure, and building envelope restoration projectsOversee building investigations, condition assessments, and restoration designPrepare and coordinate FISP/Local Law 11 reports and DOB submissionsPerform site inspections using various access methods, including scaffolding and aerial liftsDevelop repair details, construction documents, and technical specificationsManage project teams, schedules, budgets, and resource planningProvide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staffServe as a primary point of contact for clients, ownership groups, and project stakeholdersSupport proposal preparation, scoping, and business development effortsPerform structural analysis and rehabilitation design for existing buildings Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering7+ years of experience in building restoration, rehabilitation, structural repair, or building envelope consultingStrong understanding of NYC FISP/Local Law 11 requirementsExperience managing multiple projects and coordinating project teamsProficiency with structural analysis software such as RAM, STAAD, or RISAExperience with existing buildings, restoration design, and condition assessmentsWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft OfficeStrong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skillsExperience with landmark, historic preservation, or complex restoration projects is highly desirableFamiliarity with the New York City market and regulatory environmentThis opportunity is well suited for an engineer looking to take on greater project leadership responsibilities while working on some of the city's most challenging existing-building and restoration projects.
