About the role
The Restaurant Manager oversees all restaurant functions during opening, mid, or closing shifts. This exempt position requires spending over 50% of time on managerial duties, exercising independent judgment, and ensuring compliance with company policies and laws.
Responsibilities
- Perform opening, mid-day, or closing duties and conduct daily team briefings.
- Manage repair, maintenance, and local restaurant marketing and community involvement.
- Facilitate the Restaurant Risk Review audit process and implement necessary changes.
- Oversee food and beverage execution, including safety, sanitation, quality, and inventory management.
- Conduct weekly inventories, validate daily prep production, and monitor ordering patterns.
- Hire, manage, supervise, and train restaurant team members to ensure Gold Standard guest service.
- Make recommendations for team member development, promotion, disciplinary action, hiring, and termination.
- Coach, mentor, and discipline hourly team members, and facilitate team member recognition.
- Manage guest relations, guest recovery, and ensure exceptional service delivery.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment on matters of consequence to the restaurant.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of full-service, high-volume, casual dining restaurant management experience.
- High personal integrity, professionalism, and maturity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage relationships and performance effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and questioning skills.
- Excellent writing, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to absorb and retain information quickly.
- Exceptional guest service orientation.
- Ability to stand and walk for 8-10 hours, lift 50 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and raising arms above head.
Pay
Salary range: $78,000–$80,000 per year, plus quarterly bonus potential. Final salary is determined based on geographic location, relevant experience, and other job-related qualifications.
