Responsibilities
- Supervises staff and students to ensure a safe and secure operation.
- Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor.
- Monitors students' adherence to schedules, ensuring they wake up and arrive on time for school or work assignments.
- Maintains cleanliness of dorms and ensures they are inspected-ready.
- Provides informal counseling on stress management, personal problems, and responsible behavior.
- Documents student records and prepares reports for accurate documentation of student progress.
- Serves as a communication channel between management, staff, and students.
- Facilitates life skills groups and small group discussions on various topics.
- Participates in educational programs for students in assigned dormitories.
- Contacts family members for consent when necessary and facilitates prompt assistance in emergencies.
- Facilitates weekly dorm meetings and daily Morning Accountability Checks (MAC's).
- Performs regular perimeter checks to ensure safety and security.
- Facilitates weekly dorm meetings which include accountability checks.
- Maintains cleanliness and maintenance of dorm facilities and equipment.
- Communicates and models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
- Assesses personnel needs and recommends promotions, transfers, and merit evaluations.
- Conducts and prepares performance appraisals.
- Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
- Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (with 15 semester hours of social services-related instruction)
- One year experience in counseling or related field
- One year supervisory experience
- A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
