About the role

Milestone is a 7-30-day intensive level 3.7 residential treatment center designed to accommodate and treat women with a history of substance abuse, trauma, and mental health issues. The program is recovery-oriented, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed. Treatment focuses on helping women find real hope for recovery through individual and group counseling, case management, and aftercare planning services. Milestone also addresses co-occurring disorders with substance abuse as the primary diagnosis, providing individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO, and any other licensing standards
  • Makes sure medications are monitored according to the Adult residential medication policy and procedure
  • Uses appropriate communication methods to share information with other staff about the day’s events
  • Teaches and assists residents in areas such as nutrition, healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking, budgeting, and basic home care skills
  • Aids and manages administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor
  • Facilitates educational and skill-building groups and one-to-one interventions as per the treatment plan
  • Collaborates with providers and families as needed
  • Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs
  • Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards
  • Attends staff meetings, supervision, trainings, and other meetings as assigned
  • Facilitates post-crisis response meetings with program staff and program director
  • Orients and trains new program staff
  • Facilitates staff meetings in the absence of the program director
  • Coordinates staff training efforts to ensure compliance with program models
  • Oversees staff implementation of identified strategies to meet residents' needs
  • Care for all program facilities and equipment, including household tasks and duties as assigned
  • Maintains program vehicles and office site to agency standards
  • Safeguards program compliance with CHR health and safety standards, as well as Joint Commission, DCF, DPH, DMHAS, and OSHA standards, policies, and procedures
  • Provides after-hours on-call coverage, including holidays and weekends
  • Performs additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Experience working as a Residential Aide in a congregate care setting
  • Valid Driver’s License required, use of personal vehicle may be required for position
