About the role

The Senior Resident Project Representative or Senior Construction Inspector at Weston & Sampson oversees and inspects horizontal and vertical utility and infrastructure projects in the South Shore and Cape Cod areas of Massachusetts.

Responsibilities

  • Review of contract documents and construction management requirements to identify and report degree of Contractor's compliance.
  • Confirm compliance of shop drawings and other construction modifications; measure the quantities and observe quality of construction; prepare daily records of construction work; record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents and construction management requirements.
  • Review and evaluate Contractor’s work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate with abutters and the client, manage contract administration and reporting, and coordinate with engineers in support.
  • Negotiate claims for extra work/change orders with municipality involvement.
  • Maintain, liaise, and attend regular site meetings to anticipate construction work, potential problems, progress, and other job-related conditions.
  • Review and recommend Contractor’s monthly payment estimates; supervise subordinate consultant staff and survey crew as appropriate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with municipal staff and contractors.
  • Occasionally required to work overtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred
  • 10+ years of experience with horizontal water/sewer/drain, and sewer pump stations and related mechanical work and vertical construction (water/sewer treatment plants preferred)
  • Survey and design engineering experience is a plus
  • AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Experience with general construction inspection policies, procedures and administrative requirements
  • Working knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulations
  • Excellent public relations, written and verbal communication skills and organizational/time management skills
  • Ability to prepare and maintain electronic field records efficiently and accurately
  • Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipality, and residents
  • Valid driver’s license

Qualifications

  • Salary Range: $122,000.00 - $150,000.00 based on experience

Pay

$122,000.00 - $150,000.00 based on experience

Schedule

Flexibility to accommodate project needs, including occasional overtime.
