Senior Resident Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead construction project delivery team towards client-defined success
• Coordinate and communicate with various project stakeholders
• Composure and diplomatic problem solving
• Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
• Supervise general field inspection of Road and Bridge Construction including measurement, calculation, and reporting of installed quantities
• Oversee materials sampling and testing schedules
• Monitor and analyze progress of contractor's work
• Maintain various reports
• Mentor and lead inspection team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited college or university
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois
• 10+ years' experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
• Proven ability to lead successful teams, internally and externally
• Proven ability to build effective business relationships
• Certifications, including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities

Qualifications

• Transportation design and constructability review experience is a plus
• Experience on transit and/or utility projects is a plus
• Coachable and a sense of humor
• Comfortable taking initiative and exercising professional judgement

Pay

$130,000 - $180,000. Individual pay will be based on several factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant.
