Senior Research Investigator (Department of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care)

About the Role

A Senior Research Investigator will support the scientific mission of the Katzen lab by designing and managing complex in vivo and in vitro projects, collaborating with lab technicians and postdocs, and leading specific research initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lab Manager, overseeing lab safety, supply ordering, equipment maintenance, shared facility upkeep (e.g., tissue culture rooms, freezers), and lab maintenance duties.
• Scientifically support postdoctoral fellows and scientists in the laboratory.
• Assist with advanced experiments, including in vivo animal studies, cell culture, flow cytometry, cell sorting, ELISA assays, imaging, and PCR.
• Supervise and train research specialists/technicians, including onboarding new lab members on techniques and safety protocols.
• Lead specific research projects independently, from experimental design and execution to troubleshooting and manuscript drafting, under minimal supervision from the Principal Investigator.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
• Minimum of 5 years of postdoctoral experience.

Pay

Annual salary range: $36,368.00 – $94,753.00. Offers are based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, internal equity, and market factors.
