About the Role

The Research Integrity and Compliance (RIC) unit within the Division of Research & Innovation ensures the Institution and investigators conduct research in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as university policies. The Sr Research Compliance Analyst provides administrative support by reviewing and processing submissions for UNT's research compliance programs, specifically the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). This role involves initial reviews, risk assessments, and guidance for researchers throughout the compliance process.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative support to the UNT IACUC program, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and federal regulations.
• Reviews IACUC submissions and generates regulatory compliance pre-review correspondence for researchers.
• Develops meeting agendas and prepares supplemental materials for IACUC meetings.
• Acts as a resource for IACUC members regarding regulations and UNT policies on animal research.
• Composes summaries of IACUC’s technical deliberations and generates meeting minutes.
• Verifies training and OHS enrollment for IACUC members, researchers, and protocol personnel.
• Maintains documentation in accordance with UNT policies and federal regulations.
• Collaborates with faculty and staff to answer research compliance questions and provide training.
• Provides troubleshooting and support for the electronic submission system used for compliance protocols.
• Coordinates facility inspections and conducts post-approval monitoring for approved protocols.
• Assists with special projects, research compliance reporting, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate complex compliance issues effectively.
• Deep knowledge of compliance issues related to federally funded projects, agency regulations, and federal law.
• Strong written communication skills for conveying regulatory requirements.
• Interpersonal skills to maintain excellent relationships with researchers and institutional offices.
• Time management skills to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to determine when decisions require higher-level input to protect institutional integrity.
• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic statistical operations.
• Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to the work.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in research compliance in higher education.

• Sedentary work primarily involving sitting/standing.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required to meet deadlines.
