Senior Research Associate, Target BiologyW2 ContractPay Rate: $55 - $65 per hourLocation: Redwood City, CA - Onsite RoleJob Summary:We are seeking a talented senior research associate with a strong background in molecular, cancer, and cell biology to support early target discovery, screening, and validation efforts for novel oncology programs. The successful applicant will join the Target Biology team within Discovery Biology. They will work closely with team scientists and utilize a wide array of cellular and molecular biology assays and develop reagents to support validation of novel targets for our unique molecular glue platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques. They will participate in engineering new cell models and develop, optimize, and troubleshoot cellular assays. Above all, we are looking for a highly motivated, independent, and driven team player to join our diverse and talented team of scientists. Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, design, and execute in vitro cellular assays (e.g., 2D and 3D cell culture, nanoBRET, AlphaLISA, and other plate-based assays, SDS-PAGE/western blot, qPCR, CRISPR-based gene editing) and implement relevant assay readout technologies.Engineer cell lines and establish cellular assay models.Maintain cultures of multiple cancer cell lines to support experimental efforts.Generate high-quality data in a timely manner and maintain detailed experimental records.Work with cross-functional project team members to support early discovery efforts.Regularly and effectively communicate findings at departmental and inter-departmental meetings. Requirements and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field.5+ years of industry experience in a cell biology/molecular biology role.Ability to think independently, interpret, and communicate results to team members and leadership.Extensive experience with mammalian cell culture techniques and manipulation of cells, including excellent aseptic technique.Experience in microplate-based assay systems and operation of plate readers or microscopes.Experience in common data processing and visualization tools for data analysis (e.g., GraphPad Prism).Highly organized, with excellent record-keeping, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with interdepartmental teams.An energetic and proactive team player with the ability to work efficiently in a dynamic company environment. Preferred Qualifications:Viral transduction and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing experience.Experience with automated liquid handling systems and workflows is preferred.Familiarity with cellular and biochemical readouts, including viability, immunofluorescence, MSD, and flow cytometry, is preferred.
