Senior Remediation Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the Role

AECOM is seeking a Senior Remediation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for complex environmental remediation projects. This is a part-time position for a recognized industry expert to serve as a senior technical resource, mentor staff, and support project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for projects involving soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor impacts.
• Provide technical oversight and quality reviews for remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and corrective action plans.
• Evaluate and optimize remediation technologies including ISCO, SVE, Air Sparging, MPE, and Bioremediation.
• Provide strategic guidance for projects regulated under RCRA, CERCLA, and state voluntary cleanup programs.
• Mentor project managers, engineers, and scientists while supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience required; 20+ years preferred.
• Expertise in contaminated site investigation and regulatory closure.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) registration preferred.
• Strong technical writing and client communication skills.
