Where You Will Work
Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine is one of the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation includes a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator producing copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant producing copper cathode from leaching solutions. What You Will Do
- Identify system constraints and proactively pursue their elimination through continuous improvement cycles.
- Ensure continuous production is uninterrupted by minimizing equipment failures and reducing production costs through improved maintenance methods.
- Lead others or perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Act as a subject matter expert as required and assist in identifying and implementing corrective actions or technologies.
- Research new reliability processes and identify methods to predict and improve reliability.
- Perform onsite evaluations of existing processes and equipment, setting expectations for precision maintenance.
- Review and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for equipment.
- Identify Preventive Maintenance (PM) opportunities and maintenance plans by conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Analyze current CMMS data for equipment health indicators and develop reports to measure these indicators.
- Proactively develop and provide a safety perspective for equipment and processes; make recommendations for engineering solutions or methods to eliminate hazards.
- Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years related experience in Engineering, or
- Master’s degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years related experience in Engineering.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Ability to listen and understand information and ideas, and express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely through oral and written communication.
- Customer-focused to provide quality service and improve equipment and process reliability.
- Knowledge and understanding of reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Experience with engineering design drawings and schematics.
- Self-starter with solid integrity.
- Understand the importance of safety, legality, and quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with predictive maintenance, leadership, maintenance plans, and downtime reporting.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $105,000-$145,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
