About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Release Manager to join our Engineering team. This role plays a crucial part in planning and executing product releases for our flagship solution, CyberSense. The ideal candidate will coordinate delivery across multiple scrum and test teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure timely and high-quality releases.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute product releases across multiple scrum teams, from sprint outputs through go-live.
- Work with Product and Engineering leads to finalize release and feature scope.
- Partner with test leaders to coordinate hardening and stabilization work ensuring releases ship on time and at high quality.
- Track features and releases from grooming through testing.
- Build Jira and Confluence reports and dashboards capturing progress and health across all stages of feature development and releases.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, QA engineers, and program managers.
- Manage cross-team dependencies and integration timing to ensure work lands together cleanly.
- Continuously improve release processes, delivery metrics, and communications across both scaled-agile and plan-driven work - internally and externally.
- Lead feature and release readiness reviews, surfacing status, risks, and tradeoffs clearly.
- Surface risks early and drive them to resolution or escalation.
Requirements
- 7+ years in release, program, or project management on complex software products.
- Deep understanding of the SDLC, from requirements to delivery.
- A track record of managing releases end-to-end across multiple teams, including planning, readiness reviews, and production deployments.
- Solid command of Scrum, SAFe, and Waterfall, and the judgment to know which principles to apply to each situation.
- Experience coordinating multiple scrum teams: dependencies, integration, release readiness.
- Fluent in Jira and Confluence, including building effective reports and dashboards.
- Strong risk instincts - you catch problems early and resolve them.
- Clear communicator across engineering, product, executives, and partners.
- Ability to drive accountability without direct authority.
Qualifications
- PMP, CSM, PSM, or SAFe certifications are a plus.
- Experience in scaled agile environments is beneficial.
- A background in software engineering, QA, or DevOps is advantageous.
- Experience with release trains, program increments, or dedicated hardening cycles is helpful.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and modern branching strategies is desirable.
- Experience shipping combined software and hardware/appliance products is a plus.
