Senior - Real Estate Advisory Services (REAS)

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior to join our Real Estate Advisory Services (REAS) team at Anchin.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic client base while gaining exposure to both tax compliance and advisory services within the real estate industry. The ideal candidate brings strong partnership tax experience, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is looking to deepen expertise in real estate taxation and structuring.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for: Partnerships, LLCs, and flow-through entities. Real estate operating entities, holding companies, and investment structures. High-net-worth individuals with real estate holdings.
• Analyze partnership agreements, allocations, and waterfall structures.
• Perform book-to-tax adjustments, depreciation calculations, and basis tracking.
• Support tax planning and advisory initiatives, including: Entity structuring and restructuring. Transaction support (acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing). 1031 exchanges and other deferral strategies.
• Conduct tax research and draft technical memos on complex real estate tax issues.
• Collaborate with Managers and Partners on planning strategies and client deliverables.
• Manage multiple engagements and deadlines across a diverse client portfolio.
• Review the work of junior team members and provide mentorship and guidance.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA preferred.
• Experience: 2+ years of public accounting tax experience, preferably within real estate advisory services (REAS). Demonstrated experience with real estate clients and partnership taxation. Strong understanding of Subchapter K, allocations, and tiered entity structures. Experience with tax software (e.g., GoSystem, CCH Axcess) and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Compensation

Competitive annual salary in the range of $85,000 to $125,000 based on individual’s experience level.
