Responsibilities

  • Ensure the clients and staff are safe and in a positive environment at all times.
  • Provide direct therapy for clients in the therapy room.
  • Lead or assist with leading group instruction on a daily basis.
  • Timely and accurate completion of assigned administrative duties, which include but are not limited to: supporting material development, assisting in ongoing training programs, and converting sessions in the company’s EMR.
  • Participate in team meetings and training workshops.
  • Aid in training ABATs/JTs/LTs on client management when needed.
  • Assist in mentoring other technicians.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of Verbal Beginnings, LLC.
  • Assign duties and tasks to employees.
  • Make hiring decisions where required.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Supervise and direct daily activities of ABATs/JTs/LTs in the assigned therapy room, ensuring adherence to treatment plans, session integrity, professionalism, and supporting them in mastering their clinical competencies.
  • The ST may recommend DA of technicians on their team and may participate in DA meetings with the Operations Coordinator.
  • Exercise supervisory responsibilities in the hiring process, including conducting interviews, assessing candidate fit, and making or recommending final hiring decisions after consulting with other leadership roles in the center.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma preferred with a Bachelor's Degree in related field: health care or core sciences.
  • Enrolled in ABA Master's program and participating in VBA.
  • More than 1 year of experience providing ABA services full time or 3 months experience with Verbal Beginnings with successful completion of internal competency assessment.
  • RBT certification in good standing.
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of individuals with ASD and ABA therapy.
  • BLS/CPR Certification including pediatric BLS/CPR is required (must obtain prior to or shortly after hire).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to growth and development in the ABA field.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to perform activities such as reaching, grasping, walking briskly or running, sitting on the floor, kneeling, crouching, ascending and descending stairs, and transitioning quickly between standing, sitting, and other positions (e.g., floor, chair, or other surfaces) throughout the day.
  • Ability to interact effectively by speaking clearly, using age-appropriate language, and observing and maintaining attention through verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Successful completion of Safety Care training and Re-Certifications, which includes carrying children per Safety Care training.
