Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Performs the more complex imaging examinations while providing a safe environment for patients.
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Affirms patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for their specific needs.
- Explains the examination and answers questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA.
- Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Modality Manager, Chief Technologist or Assistant Chief Technologist, such as ordering supplies, QA/QC projects, lead inventory, etc.
- Helps with new departmental/hospital initiatives.
- Promotes positive morale, teamwork, and willingness to make a significant contribution.
- Trains fellows, residents, students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques.
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complies with ETU.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.
