About the role
We are seeking a Senior Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Design Engineer within our Airborne Radar Electronics Design Hardware Engineering directorate. This role will participate in the development of state-of-the-art circulators, radiators, filters, and passive components. The primary focus will be design analysis, verification, troubleshooting, and testing for circulators/radiators and RF/microwave sub-components used in phased array antennas.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in designing circuits for implementation in printed circuit board materials as well as ceramic substrates, and will be capable of making technical presentations to peers, program leadership, and customers while assisting program management in new business development.
An active and existing U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance is required from day one.
Responsibilities
- Design, simulate, implement, test, integrate, verify, validate, and deliver RF/Microwave products
- Perform microwave measurement and verification using simulation tools and microwave test equipment
- Develop circulators, radiators, filters, and passive components for phased array antennas
- Troubleshoot and conduct root-cause analyses on RF/microwave sub-components
- Generate and verify technical requirements
- Present technical findings to peers, leadership, and customers
- Support new business development initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing RF/Microwave products
- Experience with Ansys HFSS, CST, or FEKO
- U.S. citizenship (required for security clearance)
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in RF/Microwave
- Design experience with phased array antennas, radiating elements, beam formers, power splitters, feed networks, couplers, filters, circulators, or RF modules/assemblies
- Experience with microwave test equipment, calibration techniques, and vector network analyzers
- Experience with antenna range testing and root cause/corrective action (RCCA) investigations
- Proficiency in Keysight ADS, Matlab, and AutoCAD
- Hardware experience at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies
- Leadership experience, including coaching and delegating work to junior team members
Pay
The salary range for this role is $95,500 – $181,700 USD.
