Senior Quantity Surveyor - Worksop

About the role

The Laing O'Rourke Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction is seeking a Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or Commercial Manager to join their Commercial team. This role offers an opportunity to develop your career, access further training, and contribute to innovative ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Managing commercial activities including measurement, valuation, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Preparing and managing interim applications, payments and certifications.
• Managing subcontract packages, including procurement, administration, change and final accounts.
• Preparing, negotiating and managing claims and commercial changes.
• Providing contractual and commercial input into project business plans and budgets.
• Supporting contract reviews, BPR information and management accounts.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Working with project teams, clients, subcontractors and consultants to achieve strong commercial outcomes.
• Supporting the development of colleagues within the wider Commercial team.
• Ensuring appropriate commercial governance and contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Relevant commercial experience within the construction or infrastructure sector.
• Experience across subcontract management, cost control, change, risk and commercial reporting.
• Knowledge of relevant forms of contract.
• Strong commercial and financial management skills.
• A collaborative approach to working with project teams, clients and supply chain partners.
• Commitment to continued learning, development and career progression.
