This role focuses on mixed-methods UX research with a strong quantitative emphasis to drive growth strategies and app foundations. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping our understanding of users across the entire user lifecycle and within the app's foundational experience to drive growth strategies for Search.

Responsibilities

  • Design, conduct, and analyze mixed-methods research, with a focus on quantitative methods, to inform product strategy and design decisions for Search Growth Systems and App Foundations.
  • Synthesize data from multiple sources (quantitative and qualitative) into insights and compelling narratives to understand user behaviors at scale.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and data scientists to identify research needs, execute studies, and drive impact from insights.
  • Explore and implement AI tools and techniques within research workflows to improve efficiency, depth of analysis, and synthesis.
  • Communicate research findings and recommendations effectively to audiences, including cross-functional partners and leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in product research in an applied research setting, or similar.
  • Experience in programming languages used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, or Go).
  • Experience designing and executing a wide range of quantitative research methods (e.g., A/B testing, survey, log analysis).
  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL).
  • Experience with qualitative research methods.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above).
  • 3 years of experience managing projects, and working in a large organization.
  • Experience with qualitative research methods and mixed-methods research design.
  • Experience conducting UX research in the mobile app domain (e.g., user growth, engagement).

Skills

Preferable skills include:

  • Experience with AI tools and techniques within research workflows.
  • Effective communication skills to present research findings to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

Benefits

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $159000 - $231000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
