Senior Quality Technician
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Quality Technician to join our Operations team at our Savannah, Georgia location. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for analysis of process samples and water analysis from the plant
- Responsible for troubleshooting/calibrating all equipment in the QC Lab
- Prepare certificate of analysis (COA) for shipments
- Audit and approve raw materials using the Purchasing Approval System in Lotus Notes
- Assist with coordination of sample analyses from outside sources
- Meet all On-Time/In-Formal Targets (OTIF) objectives within your control
- Communicate results thoroughly within the Quality Department and with other departments
- Conduct routine final shipment analyses
- Communicate with Operations on quality matters
- Work with Plant Chemists and Quality Manager to track, report, and improve key quality indicators for laboratory compliance and efficiency
- Report instrumentation issues and remove faulty instruments from service until a disposition can be made on the instrument
- Participate in the internal auditing process and Gage R&R studies to identify training opportunities
- Interact with the plant’s EHS Department to ensure the proper disposal of chemical waste and general compliance with applicable policies
- Contribute to value creation in the working environment through healthy behaviors, training of other technicians, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the set-up and execution of routine or ad-hoc testing by selecting from a limited range of known methods and/or conditions
- Create or edit Standard Operating Procedures and conduct reviews of Procedures and Safety Standards
Requirements
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Prior work experience in a QC Laboratory; preference will be given to individuals with work experience in a chemical manufacturing setting
Qualifications
- High School diploma with the equivalent combination of advanced education and work experience required
- An accredited Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biology preferred

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
