Precision matters when the parts you inspect are built for industries where quality cannot be compromised. We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to join a long-established precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace, defense, automotive and industrial markets. This hands-on role will own first-part approvals, perform inspections on custom and repeat-production components and work directly with machinists to ensure every part meets exacting quality standards.

About the role

This is an individual contributor role for someone who wants to stay close to the work and make a visible impact as the company enters its next stage of growth. The ideal candidate brings deep quality inspection experience in gear or precision component manufacturing, strong AS9100 knowledge, and the technical confidence to collaborate directly with machinists on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

  • Review and execute first-part approvals for custom and repeat-production precision components
  • Perform detailed in-process and final inspections throughout the manufacturing cycle to verify dimensional accuracy and quality requirements
  • Partner closely with machinists on the production floor to identify, communicate and resolve quality issues
  • Inspect gears and other complex precision components using established quality procedures, drawings and specifications
  • Operate and work with inspection equipment and systems including Helmel, Gleason, Keyence and Klingelnberg equipment
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD/CAM information to verify components meet customer and industry specifications
  • Support a collaborative quality environment as the company expands its customer base and production volume

Requirements

  • 10+ years of quality assurance or quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience inspecting gears or similar precision-manufactured components
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and requirements
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and dimensional requirements
  • Experience working directly with machinists and production teams to address quality issues
  • Strong communication skills with a collaborative, floor-focused approach to quality
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in St. Augustine, Florida

Pay
