About the role
This role supports Quality Assurance within Atkore, including ISO requirements & compliance, and supplier quality programs. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of related experience as a Senior Quality Engineer or equivalent in a manufacturing or industrial environment; metallurgical experience a plus. Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related field.
Responsibilities
- Ensure clarity and consistency of the ISO requirements across all Atkore facilities.
- Conduct second party audits at all Atkore facilities to ensure ISO compliance.
- Support and lead Quality Assurance to meet the demands of customer driven quality improvements and the expanding needs of a growing company.
- Maintain focus on prevention of customer quality issues.
- Support and provide leadership for the Supplier Quality program across Atkore.
- Perform Quality systems audits of suppliers as needed.
- Manage UL / ISO / Nuclear accreditations.
- Ensure effective manufacturing process control programs.
- Support plant cost reductions and process improvement projects through various Quality tools such as FMEA, process capability, Gage R&R, SPC, pareto analysis and other six sigma/lean tools.
- Write protocols and perform validations of new/improved materials and processes.
- Manage and ensure the proper lab coverage and training for both the Quality Techs and Sr. Quality Techs.
- Continuously improve Quality Assurance capabilities and effectiveness by setting and achieving specified goals/metrics.
- Travel up to 25% of the time may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field required.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Senior Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment; tube mill and/or metallurgical experience is a plus.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt (preferred).
- Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001: 2015 preferred.
- Knowledge of inspection, control methods, techniques and documentation.
- Experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing practices preferred.
- Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques preferred.
- Knowledge of nuclear regulations 10 CFR 2 and 10 CFR 50 preferred.
- Knowledge of statistical theory and principles, SPC and tools.
- Interpersonal skills suitable for interfacing with various levels of the organization.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
