About the role
Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions division is currently seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team in Youngsville, NC. Relocation assistance is available within the US. The expected annual salary range for this role is $86,000 - $126,000 a year.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between Engineering, Youngsville Plant Operations, and Supply Chain to focus on component quality and supplier qualification.
- Work with Manufacturing Quality, Receiving, Purchasing, and Engineering to manage and control incoming material and assist with supplier NCM inventory disposition.
- Resolve component issues with suppliers and Supply Chain.
- Lead activities related to issuing and resolving DMRs & RMA materials including the closure of the W2’s in SAP.
- Collaborate with CPS Supplier Development team to deliver responses from internal and external suppliers on the material disposition to closure of issue.
- Collect data on cost of poor quality and ensure the information is accurate and added to supplier DMRs for cost recovery.
- Support SCM team to ensure RMA materials are processed weekly.
- Support NPI Quality and Supplier Development team track newly added suppliers’ performance.
- Actively engage with the manufacturing quality and supplier development teams for feedback.
- Ensure first article and PPAP information is obtained and reviewed as required by EQS (Eaton Quality System).
- Support incoming inspection issue identified.
- Manage suspect part dispositioning/screening processes for parts in house at YPO, KWO, or CPO.
- Communicates with appropriate personnel regarding significant changes, problems, or proposed solutions.
- Lead process improvement projects to reduce CONC.
- Participate in the deployment of the Eaton Business System thru supporting Eaton Business Excellence, Supplier Excellence, and the Eaton Quality System.
- Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork.
- Apply Six Sigma statistical techniques where appropriate to analyze and evaluate data to make informed decisions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited educational institution
- Minimum 3 years of related professional experience in supply chain or operations in a manufacturing setting
- Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing
- Prior SAP Experience
- CQE certification
- Formal training in problem solving
- Experience managing or supporting ISO 9001 or TS16949 Quality Management systems
