Senior Quality Control Inspector

About the Role

A well-established precision manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector Technician to support its inspection and quality operations. This full-time role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong dimensional-inspection experience, blueprint-reading skills, and a background working with close-tolerance machined components. The successful candidate will help ensure manufactured parts meet customer, engineering, and internal quality requirements through accurate inspection, documentation, and proper use of calibrated measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed dimensional inspections of machined components against engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Complete first-article inspections and prepare associated inspection reports and documentation.
• Read, interpret, and apply blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Use and maintain a variety of precision measurement tools, including optical comparators, profilometers, thread gauges, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and related inspection equipment.
• Verify that inspection tools and gauges are properly calibrated and suitable for use.
• Support gage repeatability and reproducibility studies, measurement-system analysis, and other quality activities as needed.
• Document inspection results accurately and communicate nonconforming conditions to appropriate production or quality personnel.
• Assist with in-process, final, and first-piece inspections to help ensure production conforms to requirements.
• Maintain organized inspection records and utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting and documentation.
• Follow established safety, quality, attendance, and workplace procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of quality inspection experience within a manufacturing, machining, or precision-production environment.
• Strong experience performing dimensional inspections on close-tolerance components.
• Demonstrated ability to complete first-article inspection documentation.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience using precision metrology tools such as optical comparators, profilometers, height gauges, and thread gauges.
• Familiarity with calibration practices and gage-control procedures.
• Experience with Gage R&R studies is preferred.
• Coordinate measuring machine (CMM) experience is a plus, but not required.
• Solid math skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
• Consistent work history demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and dependability.
