About the role
Northwest Partners is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join their client, a global financial services organization. The role involves developing and enhancing automation solutions that support the transformation of enterprise network infrastructure and security operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications that automate network infrastructure and security operations.
- Build high-quality, modular Python applications using modern software engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Network Engineers to understand infrastructure requirements and translate them into scalable automation solutions.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to communicate with network devices and third-party systems.
- Design and optimize database solutions, including complex queries and performance tuning.
- Write automated tests and contribute throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Work within an Agile Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development standards, code quality, and automation capabilities.
- Support automation initiatives across a range of networking technologies, including switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud platforms.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience developing applications with Python.
- Experience building full-stack applications using technologies such as Django, React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap.
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON and XML data formats.
- Strong understanding of database design, SQL, and query optimization.
- Knowledge of source control, authentication, messaging technologies, and modern software development practices.
- Experience working with network infrastructure or network automation, including technologies such as Cisco, Arista, F5, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Zscaler, or Citrix NetScaler, is highly desirable.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and infrastructure teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.

This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity requiring 4 days per week in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, in line with company policy.
