Senior Python Data Engineer – SQL Server

About the role

Python Developer with SQL expertise – Charlotte, NC (Uptown) – 12‑month contract (possible extension) – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Primary requirement is SQL Server expertise. The candidate will support Capital Market’s investment banking technology team as they expand their front office business, focusing on risk and capital while creating internal products to fortify the current platform and make them usable by other applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyze/interpret the Data Modernization strategy across impacted disciplines and develop and implement best‑of‑class data solutions.
• Support formalization of business requirements, translate business requirements into detailed technical requirements, and participate in Agile‑based workstreams via Jira.
• Create more capacity from an agile perspective.

Skills

• Python
• Data engineering and/or full stack development (e.g., PANDAS – PYTHON module, POLAR, ITORCH)
• Programming experience
• Experience building distributed applications
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.)
• SQL Server expertise
• Micro‑service architectures
• Working with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, automation deployment toolkits)
• Experience developing RESTful APIs
• Agile development environment

Nice to have

• Test Driven Development (TDD) environment
• Familiarity with capital markets domain, specifically in risk disciplines such as Market and Counterparty Credit Risk (strongly desired)
• Knowledge and understanding of derivative products, risk management, and data modeling of financial products (strongly desired)
• GenAI and Agentic AI (very nice to have)

Pay

$75.00 – $85.00 per hour (W2)
