Senior Purchasing Manager

They are seeking an experienced procurement leader to oversee purchasing operations and develop strategic supplier partnerships that support long-term business growth.
The Senior Purchasing Manager will lead all procurement activities for a large manufacturing facility, overseeing purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and a team of procurement professionals. This position plays a key role in developing sourcing strategies, optimizing costs, improving supplier performance, and ensuring materials are available to support production demands.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies that align with operational and business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of buyers and purchasing professionals.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers while negotiating pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement strategies to reduce supply chain risk.
- Partner with operations, engineering, finance, and other departments to forecast material needs and support production schedules.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase purchasing efficiency and supplier performance.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
- Analyze purchasing data and market trends to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive purchasing or supply chain leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing procurement teams and supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor development skills.
- Experience working with ERP systems and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Preferred: Master's degree and/or professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or CSCP.

Pay and Schedule
The pay for this position is $150,000 - $170,000. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Longview, TX, with a Monday–Friday schedule. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
