Senior Purchasing Analyst
About the Role
The Senior Purchasing Analyst is a key member of the Finance organization at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals and plays a critical role in supporting the mission by ensuring the timely and efficient purchase of goods and services. This position serves as a strategic partner to the business, acting as a subject matter expert for designated functional areas and providing purchasing guidance and support. In this role, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver purchasing solutions that enable scientific and operational progress. You will also work with external suppliers to optimize pricing, service levels, and overall supplier performance while ensuring a positive experience for business partners. As part of a fast-growing organization, the Senior Purchasing Analyst will contribute to the continuous improvement and evolution of purchasing processes, helping to drive efficiency, scalability, and value across the company. This role is full-time onsite, 5 days a week in Verona, WI.
Responsibilities
- Partner with assigned departments to understand their purchasing needs and help drive sourcing, vendor and purchasing decisions.
- Assist internal business partners with purchase requests, compile and process purchase requisitions and purchase orders according to established procedures.
- Manage urgent purchase requests and independently manage priorities.
- Mitigate purchasing, delivery and/or lead time issues.
- Support the implementation of technology that supports more efficient purchasing.
- Serve as liaison between internal team and vendor, communicating pricing and performance needs to vendor.
- Support department procurement activities by analyzing spend and determining future supply needs.
- Collaborate with Purchasing team to make decisions that impact efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
- Recommend preferred vendors and consolidation opportunities.
- Lead meetings with internal stakeholders to drive efficient processes and a high level of procedure compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or life sciences
- 4 years of experience in finance, buyer, or purchasing role
- Highly organized
- Self-motivated and a self-starter
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage timeline
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels within an organization
- High attention to detail
- Experience using ERP system
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft suite skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a purchasing-related role at a biotech company
Pay
Wisconsin pay range: $65,000 USD - $75,000 USD
