Senior Project Superintendent
About the role
The Christman Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent in the DC Metro/Northern Virginia region. This role involves overseeing large projects or multiple smaller projects, managing subcontractors, coordinating work activities, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety rules, and ensuring project success.
Responsibilities
- Ensures Christman is represented at the project site every day.
- Reviews project documents for constructability and logistical considerations.
- Establishes project site safety expectations and conducts safety orientations.
- Addresses safety concerns, investigates incidents, and enforces safety policies.
- Coordinates project logistics, including traffic patterns and equipment locations.
- Develops and communicates a safety program and safety expectations.
- Plans and coordinates work activities, including trade contract work and critical submittals.
- Maintains a rolling punch list and authorizes trade contractor timesheets.
- Reports progress, addresses concerns, and completes daily reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum ten (10) years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role.
- Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and ability to lead and supervise teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage time, plan, and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Construction Management, Project Management, Safety, or Communication classes.
- Experience leading and supervising multiple projects or a single large/complex project.
- Knowledge of job cost accounting and ability to analyze reports.

Pay
The expected salary range for this position in Virginia / District of Columbia is $120,000- $155,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and certifications.
