Senior Project Scheduler

Position Summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Scheduler to support full-cycle project scheduling for the Nebraska market. This role will also support change management and assist in developing, tracking, and updating schedules from inception to completion of projects.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with all field staff members, scheduling consultant, and the client to ensure efficient and accurate schedule development and updates
• Meet with Subcontractors as required in development of baseline schedule, monthly updates and recovery schedules
• Identify and communicate significant schedule risks to Staff and appropriate regional personnel
• Utilize Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Principles and experience to develop Work Breakdown Structures and work with project staff to facilitate development of the project schedule
• Use EVMS to evaluate the performance of the project by analyzing significant schedule, budget and/or resource variances from the baseline plan
• Forecast impacts of variances to aid in the management of the schedule
• Able to use the cost-loaded schedule as the basis of billings
• Utilize Primavera P6 scheduling software to update and document schedule performance
• Monitor and status schedule progress
• Analyze delivery impacts, time extensions, claims, etc. through the use of schedule fragments
• Implement controls to avoid claims
• Interact with scheduling consultant in schedule reviews, claims analysis, etc.
• Perform cash flow projections / analysis on a monthly basis
• Perform manpower projections / analysis
• Participate in regional training seminars
• Train/Lead classes and facilitate learning of the scheduling systems amongst the project staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required or equivalent years of experience in Scheduling
• 5+ years’ experience in construction scheduling required
• General knowledge of construction principles/processes, field operations, and ability to read construction plans
• Working knowledge of Oracle Primavera P6
• Experience with delay claims, time extension requests, schedule analysis, and subcontractor productivity/limitations
• Ability to motivate teams through lead planning exercises (pull scheduling, VICO)
• Ability to “VE” schedule to its shortest responsible duration
