Senior Project Safety Manager - Energy

About the role

This role supports the Project Teams in developing and sustaining an Incident and Injury Free Culture (IIFC) and ensures compliance with federal, state, local and client safety regulations and requirements.

This professional will lead the technical development and maintenance of a Project Safety Roadmap and Site Safety Plan. This position reports to the assigned Regional or Division Safety Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of jobsite specific safety orientations for new employees joining the project, as applicable.
• Facilitate safety training and testing for all employees (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag out, etc.).
• Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors.
• Support Project Leadership in the development and execution of weekly toolbox safety meetings.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the Flex & Stretch Program.
• Develop SMART Objectives and Key Results (OKR’s) to manage development and performance of direct reports.

Requirements

• Understanding of industry consensus standards such as NFPA, ASTM, and ANSI.
• Experience with union workforce desired.
• CPR/FA Certified (Trainer Preferred).
• Ability to work independently, strong communication skills with ability to influence behaviors.
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
• Bilingual proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor of Science on Occupational (OHS) or Environmental (EHS) Safety and Health preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: OSHA 30 and BCSP certification required, CHST or CSP preferred.
• Experience: 5-7 years of construction safety experience (electrical safety experience preferred).
