About the role

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Program Area Manager) to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. Communication, integrity, competence, and the ability to work well with others are important traits we would expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.

Responsibilities

  • Contract execution and performance
  • Executing the requirements of BAE Systems’ Senior Site Manager (SSM) in Kings Bay, GA
  • Managing a multifaceted workforce consisting of 65 employees supporting multiple contracts and locations, in support of Portfolio Acquisition Executive Strategic Systems Programs (PAESSP)
  • Covering IT support, Fleet support, warehouse operations, and Facility Predictive Maintenance

About the Program

The organization has supported the U.S. Navy’s Strategic PAESSP continually since the program’s inception in the 1950s. SSP developed the first sea-based, underwater-launched Strategic Weapon System (SWS), a defense system that is truly critical to our national security. For more than six decades, SSP has maintained and upgraded this weapon system and we have been there every step of the way.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 14+ Years with HS
  • 12+ Years with AA
  • 10+ Years with BS
  • 8+ Years with MS
  • 6+ Years with PhD
  • Technical knowledge and proficiency
  • Proficiency in applications word processing, spreadsheet, and database development programs to prepare appropriate reports and documents for internal and external use.
  • Analytical and technical problem solving for effective decision making and for making recommendations in an established reporting chain.
  • Excellent Communication Skills both orally and in writing.
  • Effective and proper communication is required for interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with colleagues, auditors, customers, government and vendors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with colleagues, auditors, customers, government and vendors.
  • Understanding of project managerial relationships and operations.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and make sound decisions while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Good planning, time management and organization skills.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $122400 - $208080
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
