Job Description
Administrative, technical and supervisory work in the Engineering Division, providing a broad range of professional level engineering services; duties include developing technical processes and programs for the Department of Public Works; all other related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- More than seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working on varied engineering projects
- Some administrative and supervisory experience
- Class D drivers license required
- Massachusetts Professional Engineer certificate preferred
Additional Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering
- Technical knowledge and experience in surveying, design, construction, repair and inspection of a broad range of public works type projects
- Knowledge of subdivision plan review, planning board rules and regulations, and zoning and wetlands bylaw rules and regulations
- Knowledge of engineering related computer application programs
- Knowledge of state of the art stormwater treatment technology
Skills
- Ability to meet and deal with others appropriately and effectively
- Ability to operate surveying equipment
- Ability to make public presentations and conduct meetings
- Ability to work independently and supervise others
- Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and engineering, drafting and design software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals and groups
