Senior Project Manager, Roads

Job Description

Administrative, technical and supervisory work in the Engineering Division, providing a broad range of professional level engineering services; duties include developing technical processes and programs for the Department of Public Works; all other related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
• More than seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working on varied engineering projects
• Some administrative and supervisory experience
• Class D drivers license required
• Massachusetts Professional Engineer certificate preferred

Additional Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Civil Engineering
• Technical knowledge and experience in surveying, design, construction, repair and inspection of a broad range of public works type projects
• Knowledge of subdivision plan review, planning board rules and regulations, and zoning and wetlands bylaw rules and regulations
• Knowledge of engineering related computer application programs
• Knowledge of state of the art stormwater treatment technology

Skills

• Ability to meet and deal with others appropriately and effectively
• Ability to operate surveying equipment
• Ability to make public presentations and conduct meetings
• Ability to work independently and supervise others
• Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database, and engineering, drafting and design software
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals and groups
