About the role
The power generation market is growing and evolving, driven by strong capacity demand signals. HDR's national Power Generation team is poised for significant growth and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the development, contracting, and implementation of natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
- Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
- Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
- Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities.
- Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client such that the project work plan and the client’s expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned.
- Maintain the project budget and schedule, proactively monitor and maintain the project budget, and identify scope changes.
- Guide design or consulting work in the manager’s area of engineering expertise.
- Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of Degree and Relevant Project Experience.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant power generation project experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
- PMP Certification.
- Significant experience with utility scale power generation systems including simple cycle and combined cycle plants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
