About the role

The power generation market is growing and evolving, driven by strong capacity demand signals. HDR's national Power Generation team is poised for significant growth and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the development, contracting, and implementation of natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, review of contract terms and conditions, and evaluate risks associated with the services being offered.
Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff in completion of project activities.
Provide regular communication and coordination within the project team and with the client such that the project work plan and the client’s expectations on deliverables are understood and aligned.
Maintain project deliverables for quality, completeness, and conformance to the client’s expectations.
Proactively monitor and maintain the project budget and schedule.
Develop appropriate recovery plans in the event of potential shortfalls.
Monitor the contracted scope of work and identify scope changes.
Provide training and mentoring to project team staff on project management and project consulting issues.
Guide design or consulting work in the manager’s area of engineering expertise.
Routinely report project progress to the local and regional accounting and operations team.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant project experience.
Minimum 10 years of relevant power generation project experience.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
PMP Certification.
Significant experience with utility scale power generation systems including simple cycle and combined cycle plants.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field.
Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, project management software.
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
