About the role

The power generation market is growing and evolving, driven by strong capacity demand signals. HDR's national Power Generation team is poised for significant growth and is seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the development, contracting, and implementation of natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain positive and proactive client relationships.
  • Achieve project schedule, quality, and profitability goals.
  • Serve as proposal champion/manager and assist with proposal preparation, contract review, and risk assessment.
  • Provide daily leadership to the project team and technical staff.
  • Communicate project status and align with client expectations.
  • Maintain project budget and schedule.
  • Monitor and manage project scope changes.
  • Train and mentor project team staff.
  • Guide design or consulting work in areas of engineering expertise.
  • Routinely report project progress to accounting and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant power generation project experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience with utility-scale power generation systems, including simple cycle and combined cycle plants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management tools.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
