About the Role
CJ Logistics America is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Project Manager to lead complex, enterprise-level, cross-functional initiatives that drive strategic business growth, operational scalability, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Director, PMO, this position serves as the primary strategic anchor bridging engineering, technology, operations, and executive leadership to ensure seamless enterprise customer onboarding, facility startups, and workflow optimizations. The Senior Project Manager owns the end-to-end implementation lifecycle and launch playbooks, acting as a proactive leader who anticipates risks, aligns diverse stakeholders, and guarantees project delivery on schedule, within scope, and on budget.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Project Execution: Lead enterprise-scale, cross-functional projects from inception to completion, establishing rigorous scoping, defining detailed business requirements, and managing formal in/out-of-scope boundaries.
- Governance & Control: Establish robust project management frameworks, controlling overall timelines, dependencies, milestones, resource allocation, and action items using advanced PM methodologies.
- Executive Leadership & Communication: Synthesize complex project data into high-impact executive dashboards and weekly risk assessments, providing senior leadership with clear visibility into status, critical milestones, and budget health.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Direct multi-disciplinary teams across technology, engineering, operations, and external client accounts to align priorities, drive accountability, and ensure flawless execution.
- Proactive Risk & Readiness Management: Conduct continuous risk analyses, design comprehensive operational readiness protocols, and execute data-driven mitigation strategies to eliminate launch bottlenecks.
- Startup & Launch Optimization: Define, monitor, and report on key operational metrics and launch KPIs ("pulse points"), actively working on-site or alongside local operations to drive long-term baseline performance.
- Continuous Improvement & Lean Leadership: Drive operational excellence by designing and executing advanced Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean initiatives to eliminate waste, streamline workflows, and embed standard operating practices across facilities.
- Operational Validation & Playbook Mastery: Partner with operations management through peak implementation and hypercare phases to test, validate, and harden protocols; conduct post-mortems to continuously refine organizational implementation playbooks for repeatable success.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, operations, project management, or another relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in Logistics, Warehousing, Transportation, Project Management, or direct implementation of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Leadership & Operational Expertise: Proven project management skills and exceptional leadership ability with extensive knowledge across all facets of warehouse operations and enterprise implementations.
- Interpersonal & Negotiation Savvy: Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, communication, and negotiation skills with a demonstrated focus on enterprise customer interactions.
- Autonomy & Drive: Self-directed leader capable of identifying, prioritizing, and executing work tasks independently with strategic composure and integrity.
- Risk & Issue Execution: Proven experience identifying, managing, and executing against complex risks and issues within large-scale project lifecycles.
- Systems & Industry Knowledge: Computer literacy with hands-on RF and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience; experience in food-grade or healthcare warehouse environments is a plus.
- Travel Flexibility: Availability to travel up to 50%, with higher frequency required during project go-live, startup launches, and critical support phases.
- Physical & Warehouse Readiness: Ability to balance desk-based PM duties with active warehouse floor walkthroughs—including standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and wearing required PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, high-visibility vests) around loud noises and equipment traffic.

Pay
$121,000 - $135,000 per year
Schedule
- Hybrid schedule: Four (4) days per week on-site at our corporate office in Des Plaines, IL
- Flexible hours to support deadlines or cross-functional collaboration
