About the role

The Senior Project Manager plays a key role in the successful management of industrial projects and the development of staff. This individual will provide technical and engineering leadership, ensure high customer satisfaction, mentor and coach colleagues, and actively support business development through proposals and client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and participate in the engineering of projects to assure KFI quality, customer satisfaction, and financial objectives are met.
  • Actively manage assigned projects, driving them to completion through strong delegation, follow-up, and personal execution as needed.
  • Apply principles from science to engineering designs and problems while supporting other departments/disciplines.
  • Manage project execution, schedules, and budgets, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and billing activity.
  • Define and scope new opportunities, contributing to all aspects of the business development process (e.g., proposals, customer meetings).
  • Manage staff, provide direction, facilitate goal setting, conduct performance reviews, and hold one-on-one meetings.
  • Allocate department resources to ensure effective utilization and development of staff.
  • Develop and coach talent to meet current and future organizational goals.
  • Participate in departmental resource planning, strategy, hiring, and process improvements as a member of the IPA leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without work sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Minimum of fifteen years' professional experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering projects related to Oilseed Processing, Biofuels, Agribusiness, and/or industrial processing operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in design and construction phase support services.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to lead and develop Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
  • Superior project management skills and knowledge of related tools and processes.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work with senior business leaders and customers.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to synthesize diverse ideas into actionable recommendations.
  • Self-directed yet thrives in a consultative environment for superior outcomes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and design software common to industrial facility engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or willingness to pursue this designation.
  • Experience in consulting engineering.

Working Conditions

  • Some work locations may feature tough terrain typical of construction sites.
  • May include up to 15% domestic travel.

Pay

Salary Range: $130,000 - $163,000. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications, experience, work location, and education. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
