About the role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager I- MEP with 10+ years of professional experience to join our growing MEP team in the Austin, TX office.
Responsibilities
- Lead MEP projects from inception through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across large-scale projects.
- Manage and mentor a team of MEP engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and supporting professional development.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle and beyond.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, lead pursuit strategy, and author or contribute to proposals and qualifications packages.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and with key client accounts to expand the firm's market presence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and resource plans; proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Conduct regular project reviews and progress meetings; prepare and present clear, accurate project reports.
- Drive consistent use of project management processes and procedures across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; PMP or equivalent project management certification accepted in lieu.
- 10+ years of experience in MEP project management.
- Strong knowledge of relevant mechanical, electrical, and plumbing codes and standards.
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or MS Project.
- Able to manage competing priorities across multiple active projects.
