Senior Project Manager - Heavy Civils

About the role

Joseph Gallagher is a leading UK-based Civil Engineering & Tunnelling sub-contractor with a strong international presence. The company has grown significantly over the past 40+ years, participating in critical infrastructure projects.

Key Accountabilities

• Ensure the site is run in a safe and efficient manner that reflects Joseph Gallagher Ltd's high standards.
• Maximise the commercial performance of the contract.
• Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources.
• Continually forecast, keep the team informed of forecasts and changes, and manage the scope meticulously.
• Report risk and opportunities to the senior management team.
• Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects.
• Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITP’s and waste management plans, in line with Company procedures.
• Maintain detailed site diaries/records.
• Manage commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo.

Job Skills, Experience And Qualifications

• A broad civil background, particularly in heavy civils and concrete structures.
• Proficient in NEC4 contracts.
• Experienced in Design Management, Programme & Risk Management, Production of CVR, including cost control, forecasting, and value assessment.
• Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• SMSTS certification.
• Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
• Experience in managing and delivering successful projects with minimal guidance.
• Minimum degree qualification.
