Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineer)

About the role

The Senior Project Manager at SSR is responsible for overseeing projects of high scope and complexity. They manage projects for multiple clients simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of quality products and services.

Responsibilities

• Planner and executor of project plans
• Deliver quality products and services to clients in a timely manner
• Manage project finances proactively
• Serve as the primary contact between SSR project team and clients
• Advise on engineering matters to clients and external teams
• Oversee, lead, and mentor Project Manager I and II on their assigned projects
• Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and other stakeholders
• Develop project staffing plans and preliminary man-hour budgets
• Lead project kick-off meetings
• Support and guide Project Managers and other team members on assigned projects
• Manage schedule expectations and propose interim milestones
• Monitor manpower requirements and update eResource with current man-hour projections
• Ensure project documentation is completed and stored
• Implement and manage QA/QC plans
• Prepare and implement proactive risk assessment strategies
• Manage the Construction Administration (CA) process
• Supervise job close-out processes
• Attend meetings with owners, clients, and architects
• Respond to contractor's and client's requests for information
• Perform risk assessments and develop response strategies
• Manage project budget and schedule work according to man-hour budgets
• Administer fees for additional services as needed
• Engage in business development activities with current and potential clients
• Participate in professional organizations or industry speaking and writing engagements

Requirements

• Technical or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with ten years of related project experience
• Fifteen years of practical experience on similar projects
• Proven leadership as a trusted advisor to clients
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects of various sizes and complexities
• Expertise in proactively managing project financials with minimal oversight
• Professional Engineer Licensure preferred (for those with an ABET accredited degree in engineering)
