About the role
TESSERE is seeking a registered architect to serve as Project Manager, taking responsibility for specific client relationships and overseeing the proposal, design, planning, budgeting, preparation, and delivery of renovation, remodel, expansion, and new construction projects. This production, management, and supervisory position ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget, reporting to a sector-leading architect.
Responsibilities
- Meet directly with clients to analyze goals and develop architectural solutions.
- Plan project budgets, milestones, and schedules; track project performance.
- Initiate and create schematic designs and plans, preparing drawings.
- Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases to meet deadlines.
- Direct and coordinate with engineering disciplines and third-party vendors, reviewing construction documents for conflicts.
- Write or edit architectural specifications provided by the owner.
- Plan, initiate, and run project meetings, setting agendas and issuing minutes.
- Ensure code and accessibility compliance across competing building, life safety, health, and accessibility codes.
- Coordinate addenda, ASIs, RFIs, WCPRs, and change orders; incorporate agreed-upon changes into project documents.
- Analyze and negotiate pay applications and change orders.
- Report project completion for billing, approve invoices, and lead collections activities as needed.
- Provide supervision and guidance to team members facilitating project delivery.

Requirements
- Licensed architect in at least one U.S. state.
- 7+ years of client management experience.
- 7+ years of project leadership and management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
- Proficiency with Deltek project and resource management tools preferred.
- Revit knowledge beneficial.
- LEED credentials preferred.
- NCARB certified and eligible for reciprocal licensing in other states preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

- Strong knowledge of technical design considerations and trends.
- Strong knowledge of building materials and methods.
- Strong knowledge of codes and accessibility requirements.
- Knowledge of sustainable design.
- Excellent written and communication skills; ability to relate well to others at all levels with diplomacy and tact.
- Planning and organization skills to manage multiple priorities and complete projects independently.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities while working with numerous owner representatives and clients simultaneously.
- Comfort with change, risk, and uncertainty; ability to act without having the full picture.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team under others’ leadership.
- Physical ability to traverse uneven terrain, climb steps or ladders, and tolerate airborne environmental nuisances at construction sites.
- Ability to visually survey, measure, and assess project sites and ongoing construction.
