About the role

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) oversees project teams and ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. This role involves managing contracts, overseeing procurement, and ensuring project profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Project Managers' activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, scheduling, procurement, project financials set-up and updates, and closeout.
  • Maintain a focus on meeting and exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Build business relationships with current customers and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Review and analyze bids to ensure budget and schedule compliance.
  • Provide resources to the estimating department and participate in or oversee the pre-qualification and bid evaluation process for consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Manage the Project Team to produce clear, thorough, and accurate scopes of work, organize purchasing processes, and manage risk and change order processes.
  • Lead the Project Team to focus on critical path matters and prevent non-excusable delays.
  • Secure change order authorizations and take immediate action on non-performing subcontractors.
  • Ensure the safe execution of projects and maintain a risk management regimen.
  • Track and manage costs, prepare cost to complete forecasts, and ensure timely submission of these forecasts.
  • Establish a closeout plan and ensure timely completion of contract closeout documents.
  • Manage meetings and effectively communicate with the Project Team and subcontractors.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors and owners.
  • Ensure the quality of work and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Organize periodic team events and training sessions to advance the company's strategy of "Train & Develop Our People."

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field with at least 8 years of related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including scheduling and construction software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
