Duties
- Organize and execute projects, including coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants.
- Coordinate and communicate between technical service teams and various business units.
- Adapt project management techniques to leverage best practices of iterative agile methodologies and pre-planned processes.
- Translate between technical and non-technical staff, including senior leadership.
- Develop and improve departmental project management methodologies.
- Lead and motivate teams to ensure projects are delivered with high quality.
- Manage project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Evaluate the impact of changes to project constraints.
- Identify and manage potential risks or issues.
- Proactively develop contingency and mitigation plans.
- Communicate relevant project information to project team members, internal customers, and management team.
- Influence decision-making, obtain buy-in, and negotiate resources, scope, and timelines with Project Sponsors, key stakeholders, and project team members.
- Manage contract and consulting resources and ensure compliance with the project budget and Statement of Work.
- Analyze and assess project requirements and processes.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead the project effort in standardizing processes, streamlining, enhancing, and making processes superior and simple.
- Deliver effective problem solving with an analytical mindset and take end-to-end project ownership to prevent and solve problems, and anticipate and avoid problems before they become project blockers.
- Take control of all assigned IT projects end-to-end to effectively challenge project members, ensure accountability, and inform stakeholders of project outcomes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in managing IT Projects required.
- A combination of technical IT and leadership experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in managing IT Projects preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing medium to large complexity IT projects.
- Ability to influence and motivate others (who do not report to you) to perform quality work.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, project team members, internal clients, and consultants.
- Strong ability to persuade at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and solve complex problems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of JIRA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies and experience managing projects in both.
