Senior Project Manager

About the role
A Senior Project Manager manages complex medium and high voltage projects, including transmission, distribution, and substation construction/maintenance. This role oversees planning, directing, and coordinating activities through subordinate supervisory personnel, participating in conceptual development, organization, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, subcontractors, safety, quality, and execution.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customer success by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with field leaders, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and supporting personnel.
- Develop, implement, and track resource-loaded project schedules.
- Identify, communicate, and manage project risks effectively.
- Establish and track project budgets, including monthly reporting and forecasting.
- Lead project kickoff meetings and mobilization plans.
- Manage project closeout and demobilization.
- Track and report project production goals accurately.
- Develop, track, and report a Project Specific Safety Plan (PSSP), collaborating with safety professionals to ensure safe project execution.
- Develop, track, and report a Project Quality Plan (PQP), working with quality professionals to meet all quality metrics and resolve issues promptly.
- Work with field leadership to efficiently manage personnel and equipment requirements.
- Negotiate subcontractor and vendor contract scope, terms, and conditions.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors.
- Understand and follow project contractual terms and conditions.
- Mentor and train members of the Project Management team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of project management experience in the construction industry (candidates with 3-5 years may be considered for a Project Manager role).
- Ability to write business correspondence and communicate effectively.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and identify constructability issues.
- Willingness to travel short-term.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and local permitting agencies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
- Valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree or relevant experience is preferred.
- High-voltage construction experience.
- PMP Certification.
Pay
$150,000–$170,000 per year.
