About the role
This is a people leadership and engineering execution role for an experienced leader with deep healthcare industry knowledge. You will lead a distributed healthcare engineering team while bringing the domain expertise required to navigate the nuances and complexities of U.S. healthcare technology. As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of approximately 9–10 engineers spanning the United States and India, providing people leadership, structuring healthcare engineering initiatives, and driving project execution.
This role deliberately emphasizes healthcare domain expertise and people management. We are looking for someone who understands how healthcare systems operate, including the importance of data privacy and interoperability, and who can apply that knowledge while leading engineering teams and projects.
Location: While this role is open to remote candidates across the United States, team members located within 40 miles of our Scottsdale headquarters (9451 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale, AZ 85256) are expected to work onsite four days per week to support collaboration, speed, and execution. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a healthcare engineering team of approximately 9–10 engineers.
- Provide people leadership, direction, accountability, and execution support across the engineering team.
- Manage a distributed team spanning engineering resources in India and the United States.
- Front-end the healthcare engineering team and drive project execution.
- Structure, organize, and manage healthcare technology projects.
- Apply healthcare industry knowledge to engineering planning, decision-making, and execution.
- Help engineering teams navigate the nuances and complexities of U.S. healthcare technology.
- Bring practical understanding of healthcare data privacy into how projects and systems are structured.
- Guide engineering execution involving healthcare interoperability requirements.
- Work effectively with technical teams while maintaining primary accountability for people leadership and delivery.
- Drive execution for healthcare initiatives connected to external opportunities.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including engineering people-management experience and significant experience working within the healthcare domain.
- Significant professional experience working in the healthcare domain.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing engineering teams.
- Experience managing teams of approximately 10 engineers or comparable scope.
- Strong people-management and team leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience structuring and managing healthcare technology projects.
- Strong healthcare project execution experience.
- Experience with FHIR and healthcare-system interoperability.
- Understanding of healthcare data privacy considerations and how they influence technology projects.
- Technical knowledge sufficient to effectively lead engineering teams and participate in technical discussions.
- Experience operating within U.S.-centric healthcare environments.
- Ability to lead distributed engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare, health insurance, or closely related healthcare technology environments.
- Experience managing engineering organizations distributed across multiple locations.
- Experience leading teams responsible for customer- or opportunity-driven healthcare projects.
- Experience helping engineering teams translate healthcare-domain requirements into effective project execution.

Pay
The expected hiring range is $105,000 - $160,000. A different level in the job hierarchy may apply to a specific candidate, resulting in a different hiring range.
