Senior Project Manager

About the Role

Kitchell seeks experienced and dedicated Senior Project Managers to join our Bay Area region in San Francisco, providing PM/CM services as an owner’s representative on Division of State Architect (DSA) K-12 education market sector programs or projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide PM/CM consultant services for the owner in the California education market sector.
• Ensure operations are executed in accordance with company project management procedures and policies.
• Ensure delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplished.
• Manage the procurement phase and development of RFQs and RFPs.
• Oversee contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate, direct, and monitor activities of contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related entities.
• Manage project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client.
• Identify and manage risk on the project; advise and confer with regional executive prior to implementing risk mitigation actions.
• Actively participate on internal teams focused on continuous improvement of the company.
• Ensure workplace health and safety policies and procedures are clearly communicated and enforced.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum of 12 years of vertical construction industry experience, with 5+ years as a Project or Construction Manager.
• Construction experience in the California public education market sector under DSA regulatory oversight (required).
• Effective presentation skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to end users, stakeholders, and boards of education.
• Proficient in MS Suite tools and Bluebeam (required).
• Working knowledge of industry tools such as P6 and Procore (strongly preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to foster and maintain interpersonal relationships.
• Leadership and financial management support for the project team.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions.

Qualifications

• Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification, and/or LEED Professional Accreditation (preferred).

Work Environment

This position requires regular work in an office, office trailer, and/or construction jobsite environment. Conditions include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level is occasionally loud.

• Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, feel, and handle.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this role is $170,000 - $200,000. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of job-related skills, relevant education and experience, abilities, and equity with other team members.

Schedule

This position is performed on-site at the project location in the San Francisco, CA area.
