Senior Project Manager
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience managing projects in aseptic manufacturing, technology transfers, and/or new product launches of commercial products or large budget projects. The ideal candidate is skilled in delivering projects on time and within budget while inspiring teams to reach common goals.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage day-to-day project and/or team activities and issues on global projects across multiple organizations, geographies, and business areas.
- Ensure the use of formal project and program management processes and tools.
- Take on critical projects at the request of, and report to, the Senior Leadership Team.
- Interface with senior management on significant matters, often requiring coordination across organizational units.
- Participate in the development of teammates by facilitating training, providing feedback, and offering guidance.
- Actively manage projects to achieve key performance indicators and proactively discuss corrective actions with customers and internal teams.
- Identify and manage significant risks, develop mitigation plans, and bring clarity to complex, high-ambiguity situations.
- Lead the delivery of multiple diverse projects simultaneously.
- Work closely with Business Development to generate Project Plans from Project Proposal documentation.
- Assess project management training needs and select training tools for team members.
- Act as a mentor to less-experienced staff and may provide work direction or supervise other employees.
Requirements
- Proven customer service professional with the ability to forge strong customer relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of all phases of drug development, relevant functions and processes, and project management principles in the biopharmaceutical environment.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry work experience, including at least 5 years of progressively responsible project management experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing services.
- 3+ years of experience managing large-budget and/or commercial projects.
- Ability to inspire others to share a vision and support them in reaching common goals.
- Aptitude for supporting a patient-centered, best-in-class service organization.
- Strong cross-functional negotiating and decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- PMP/PgMP certification required, or ability and willingness to obtain certification.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
